The aim of this faq is to answer the most common and general questions that you have. If you have never been into emulation before then I guess all your question are answered here.

1) What is playstation emulation?

Ans) Playstation emulation is an attempt to make the playstation commercial game playable on your PC.

2) I want to play Playstation games on PC what should I do?

Ans) Currently there are folowing emulators available which you can use to play the playstation game

  1. Epsxe
  2. Fpse
  3. Adripsx
  4. Pcsx
  5. VGS
  6. Bleem

3) Are any additional files required for running the emulator?

Ans) Yes Plugins and playstation BIOS Image usually schp1001.bin. Pete's plugins are all available in this website, howvere there are also many other great plugins which are available at the NGemu download section. BIOS image is not available in this website and neither does any other website would be giving it. You will have to search the web by yourself. Because the BIOS image is the legal owner ship of Sony Corp, distribution of which is very strictly prohibited by any website.

4) Whay are Pete's Plugins?

Ans) These files are required for the playstation emulators, not required in the commercial ones i.e. Bleem and VGS.

5) How do I use these plugins?

Ans) Unzip the downloaded files of graphics, sound and graphics plugins to the plugin folder which is created when you install (or Unzip) the emulator. For example if you unzip the emulator pack in C drive then following folder will be of the plugins i.e. c:\emulator\plugins , simply unzip the plugin files in this directory. Then run the emulator and enter its configuration panel ( if you need help with emulators consult the documents which some along with it or visit the forums and ask your questions there). There select Pete's GPU, Pete's SPU and Pete's CDr and configure the plugins.

6) How do I configure these Plugins?

Ans) I have created detailed reviews, which will provide assistance for the plugin configurations.

7) My favourite Game " This that" is not running is this an emu problem or plugin?

Ans) If you have configured the plugins the way I have mentioned in the reviews and the problem still persists then this is an emu problem. Most of the compatibility problems relates to the emulator. The Plugins give problems like graphics glitched and choppy sound. Even to these problems the plugin contributes 30 Percent.

8) The textures move a lot when playing a PSX game? can this me solved.

Ans) No! This behaviour is a part of PSX characteristic and cannot be solved.

9) I want to take sreen shots, how can I do that?

Ans) Pete's GPUs provide you with this facility, all you have to do is to press F8 key when you want to take a screen shot. The Shots will be saved in bmp format in the Snaps directory of the emulator.

10) I get very choppy sound with the games, how can I solve this issue?

Ans) First check if you have cinfigured the plugins properly, then check the compatibility lis of the emulator wif the game has some know issues. After that check you CD if it has scratches, because somegames read sound data directly from the disc and would cause sound problems if the CD contains scratches.

11) What is the advantage of Speed limitation?

Ans) If you enable speed limitation then you can get pretty nice mdec quality and better XA audio, but this doenot apply for all CDroms.
